A Message from Dr. Wagner
After a long career in medicine, and 25 years of practicing the specialty of pain management, with mixed feelings I have decided the time is right to step back from the rewarding work of providing direct patient care. Over the next months, we will be gradually closing San Diego Pain Management as a medical practice. We will not be seeing any new patients. I have set a relatively long time frame to ensure that all my established patients have time to make transitions to new providers, and we have assured them that we will try and assist in any way we can, and, in particular, provide records to other practices.
During these transition months, callers should expect that there will be decreasing hours in which office staff are physically present in the office to answer telephone calls directly. However, we expect to be highly available through the answering service, and you are encouraged to leave a message with the service. For now, staff will be more available on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and less so on Thursday and Friday.
It has been a pleasure serving the San Diego community for the last 33 years.
R. Lee Wagner, M.D.
COVID-19 Update:
San Diego Pain Management continues to follow the highest level of safety precautions as we monitor COVID-19 in our communities. While we plan to keep our clinic open to safely care for our patients, we would still like to impose some safeguards to protect our patients and minimize exposure to infection.
To emphasize our dedication to patient health and safety, we are available for your health care needs via telemedicine. Established patients are being seen via telemedicine to reduce risk. New patients are typically seen in-office for an initial visit due to the nature of pain management evaluations; however, our practice is open to telehealth consultations during this COVID-19 crisis, depending on the complexity of the problem.
If you are having flu-like symptoms, such as fever, chills, muscle aches, difficulty breathing, recent cough, headache, sore throat, sudden loss of taste or smell, or shortness of breath, we ask that you refrain from seeking care at San Diego Pain Management in-person. In case of emergency, please call 9-1-1.
